After completing his high school education at Bahçelievler Super High School in 2000, he got into the Istanbul University – Cerrahpaşa Faculty of Medicine in the same year.
Between 2000 and 2006, he completed his medical education at Istanbul University – Cerrahpaşa Faculty of Medicine.
As of 2007, he started his General Surgery Specialization in Istanbul University Cerrahpaşa Faculty of Medicine, ‘General Surgery Department’.
In 2009, he worked in the Private Metabolic Surgery Clinic in the Taksim German Hospital in Istanbul and took part in the Laparoscopic Metabolic Surgery (surgical treatment of Type 2 Diabetes) surgery, which was performed for the first time in Türkiye. In 2011, he received ‘Metabolic Surgery’ training at the Taksim German Hospital Metabolic Surgery Unit under Universal Hospitals. He completed his General Surgery specialization in 2012.
Between 2012 and 2014, he worked as a General Surgery Specialist at Istanbul Kanuni Sultan Süleyman Training and Research Hospital.
Between 2014 and 2017, he worked at the Metabolic Surgery Clinic in Şişli, Istanbul.
He started to work as a Lecturer at Istanbul Bilgi University in 2015 and received the title of Assistant Professor in 2016. Between 2009 and 2017, he took part in more than 1000 Bariatric and Metabolic Surgery Operations.
Between 2017 and 2018, he worked as a General Surgery Specialist at Private Gebze Konak Hospital in Kocaeli.
Between 2018 and 2019, he worked as a General Surgery Specialist at Medical Park Bahçelievler Hospital in Istanbul.
He worked as a General Surgery and Metabolic and Bariatric Surgery Specialist at Istanbul Surgical Hospital between 2019-2020 and opened his own clinic in 2020.
He received the title of Associate Professor in June 2021. Dr. Fatih Can Karaca, who is married and has two children, is fluent English.
