Natural non-surgical aesthetics with Dr. Gökçen Alagöz

With minimally invasive and non-surgical techniques on the rise, everyone is looking for ways to achieve vibrant and natural skin.

Mesotherapy is the latest breakthrough for spot  reduction, body-sculpting, cellulite reduction and skin rejuvenation. Mesotherapy involves painless microinjections of conventional or homeopathic medication and/or vitamins into the skin achieving a desired therapeutic result.

Pioneered by the French physician Dr. Michel Pistor in 1952, Mesotherapy is a minimally invasive procedure that is widely used in Europe and is enjoying growing popularity in the United States and Canada to treat various injuries and medical conditions

Laxity of the cheek and neck skin is a common cosmetic complaint as we age. Scientific publications have proven that improving skin laxity can be achieved safely and effectively with noninvasive methods.

A skin that is firmer each day than the previous one develops due to the increase in collagen and elastic tissue. With mesotherapy applications, the skin tightens and the absence of any risks such as tissue damage and nerve damage on the face provides a natural rejuvenation. Mesotherapy, which aims to tighten and revitalize the skin and remove wrinkles without losing mimics, is successfully performed all over the world.

Now, methods that are called non-invasive, that is, painless, without side effects and can be applied without reducing the quality of life, have come into play.  Products with anti-aging effect on the skin are certified and approved.

How Does Mesotherapy Work?

From the age of 25, the decrease in collagen, one of the basic building blocks, causes gradual loosening and wrinkling of the skin. With healthy collagen fibers, a stronger connective tissue and a taut face can be achieved.

In which areas can mesotherapy be used?

Its distinctive feature is that it can be applied to the face, neck and eye contour area.  The success rate increases with combined treatments in skin types with intense blemishes. Lower face for a more V face, a more prominent jaw line is achieved with the lower face application.

Since Alopecia results from poor circulation, nutritional imbalances, and the excess of a hormone known as DHT (dihydrotestosterone), Mesotherapy can correct these problems, stimulating the body to naturally grow lost hair.

Is the procedure suitable for all skin types?

This painless procedure is suitable for all skin types, but it is important and necessary that the sagging does not require surgery, the depth of the spots and the physician’s pre-evaluation.

How is Mesotherapy Application Performed?

It is an application of 4-6 sessions every two weeks. After applying local anesthetic cream to the application area, it is waited for 15-20 minutes, then applications can be made to the eyelid and its surroundings, neck or decollete for certain periods of time depending on the region. The micro-injections are relatively painless, and side effects are limited to minor bruising.

What season of the year can mesotherapy be applied?

This application can be performed in all seasons. We should prefer chemical peeling and laser applications in spring and winter seasons.

When is the effect of mesotherapy visible?

Collagen production takes an average of 4-6 months, so the effects of the treatment settle in the 6th month. However, 4 days after the first application, the skin starts to look brighter and firmer, and the results are evident after the 3rd session.

Finally, adequate and healthy nutrition, smoking, the amount of water drunk, your antioxidant capacity produced by sports, sun rays, quality sleep time, stress will affect all non-surgical aesthetic procedures. Take care of your skin both internally and externally. After making detailed evaluations, our duty as physicians will be to inform you about the appropriate doses and timing of these procedures.
